California Community Colleges abide by regulations to comply with the Civic Center Act in determining allowable costs for use of college facilities or grounds for community use.
In accordance with the Civic Center Act, Chabot College is required to recover direct costs associated with the use of college facilities and grounds. These costs include, but are not limited to:
-
Facility use
-
Unlocking and locking of facilities
-
Event management
-
Custodial services
-
Utilities
-
Maintenance, repairs, restorations, and refurbishments related to facility or grounds use
-
Facility rental fees, equipment usage, and staffing (including Campus Safety, Custodial, IT Support, and other required personnel)
-
A nonprofit rate option is available upon submission of your organization’s 501(c)(3) documentation.
Chabot College rental fees are structured for “Fee-Charging Entities” and “Non-Fee Charging Entities.” For a Fee-Charging Entity, the facility use fees are charged at “market rate” which has been determined by a survey of surrounding entities. Non-Fee Charging rates are charged to entities which do not charge any type of entrance fee, registration fee, participation fee, etc., for their organization or the event being held at Chabot College.
