Howdy, fellow human! My name is Jay Wong Galindo, your friendly neighborhood Humanities and Religious Studies instructor. I grew up in Sunnyvale (when it had orchards), then crossed the threshold to UC San Diego, where I began a 12-year San Diego journey before answering the call to return to the Bay Area.
Before teaching, I spent over a decade as an electrical engineer. But, a new call to adventure led me to graduate study in Consciousness and Transformative Studies, with an emphasis in East/West philosophy and religion from JFK University, followed by a degree in Philosophy, Theology, and Religions from the University of Lucerne in Switzerland. Since 2010, I have taught throughout the Bay Area, including at De Anza College and San Jose City College.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy trail running, music, and the marching arts. I am passionate about helping students recognize their capacity for growth and creating an equitable, inclusive learning environment where we all can flourish.
