I come to Chabot College with over 35 years of welding experience, over 23 of it as an Instructor in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, OAW, and thermal cutting. I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art and Liberal Arts from the University of California, San Diego, and am a Certified Welding Inspector. My welding background spans a wide variety of applications, from large machinery and construction field welding to precision parts and machining for tech research labs. On the fun side, I've built large robots, carnival funhouses, and giant waterslides for performances and television shows. I'm active in the American Welding Society, having served several terms as the San Francisco Section Chair, and encourage all of my students to join as Student Members.
